Components of a Cause Making all the Difference

In 2025 TLCU donated to The Range of Motion Project (ROMP), based in Denver, Colorado. ROMP’s Components for a Cause (C4C) Program collects, catalogues and redistributes valuable prosthetic parts to people living in underserved areas including Ecuador and Guatemala. ROMP’s mission is to ensure access to high-quality prosthetic care for those who need it, improving their mobility and independence.

ROMP Defines Mobility As:

  • Essential - mobility is a human right.

  • Multifaceted - the prosthesis alone is not enough.

  • Community-based - services work best where patients live.

  • Physical mobility - the way we move is an expression of our humanity.

  • Mental mobility - to overcome the limitations of our bodies, we must overcome the limitations of our minds.

  • Economic mobility - becoming more economically stable.

  • Social mobility - growing within family and community.

TLCU collated and donated components including paediatric parts, liners, knees and adapters – all essential components that make up a safe and high-quality prosthesis.

We were lucky to hear from two recipients of our donation, and to see the impact ROMP has made in these recipients’ quality of life. Pictured below, Genesis in Ecuador has recently been fitted with a new prosthetic leg utilizing a knee that TLCU donated. They are so happy to have their new prosthesis and wanted to pass along their gratitude!

ROMP envisions a world where every amputee receives the prosthetic care they need, and donations are critical to turning this vision into a reality. We encourage any readers to spread the word to other potential donors.
